The BEST project aims to develop new safe, innovative and modular products with high technological value for various application areas, such as: (i) energy storage systems dedicated to efficient coupling with renewable sources and capable of regulating the load for the utility itself even remotely, both off-grid and grid-connected; (ii) battery storage and electric vehicle storage systems to serve industry operators for temporary placement with lithium battery manufacturers and assemblers, importers of cells, batteries, and consumer electronics, retailers, interports and supply chain, cell, battery, and electronic waste (WEEE) supply chain managers, electronic device and vehicle maintenance, and electric vehicle manufacturing and sales; (iii) mobile systems for testing and certification of lithium battery cells, stacks, and modules serving research, development, and certification laboratories that require dedicated storage rooms.

The implementation of the above technological solutions will make it possible to realize a multipurpose energy storage system suitable both for coupling with renewable source plants and for doing storage and testing of highly innovative lithium batteries. The proposed project will ensure that proponents develop an innovative module that can stand as a leading product among advanced energy solutions, which aim to support the exploitation of renewable sources and electricity storage systems in order to promote the ecological transition and reduce our country’s energy dependence on fossil fuels.
