H2PORTS FINAL CONFERENCE
Valencia, 03 December 2025
Yesterday, 3rd December 2025, the “H2PORTS Final Conference” concluded, held in person at the Port of Valencia.
The event, attended by institutional representatives, port-sector stakeholders and industry members, celebrated the results of a project that in recent years has generated highly significant impacts on European port logistics, paving the way for the integration of hydrogen as a key energy carrier in terminal operations.
The conference took place in the auditorium of the Port Authority of Valencia and included a visit to the three pilot projects developed within the H2PORTS framework:
- The Mobile Hydrogen Refuelling Station, designed by the Centro Nacional del Hidrógeno (CNH2) and operated by Carburos Metálicos (Air Products Group).
- The H2 Reachstacker, designed and manufactured by Hyster, currently operating at MSC Terminal Valencia.
- The H2 4×4 Yard Tractor, developed and retrofitted by Atena, equipped with a Ballard fuel cell module and operating at Valencia Terminal Europa (Grimaldi Group).
The results presented during the conference showed how these hydrogen technologies can significantly contribute to the decarbonisation of port activities, increasing operational efficiency and reducing local emissions.
The event also hosted a session dedicated to the future of hydrogen in ports, organised by the Clean Hydrogen Partnership, offering a strategic insight into developments expected over the next decade.
